The New Notebooks: They’re Still In Existence And Needed

When you hear the word notebook, what do you think of? If you’re like most individuals today, your mind might go straight to the portable computer. This was not always the association. Notebooks used to pertain to paper bound by spiral coil or other method. They were for writing by hand.
When you get your child’s school list, the first thing you more than likely will see is a notebook. They certainly are not suggesting you get a computer for that class. They still require paper to write on. In the classroom, this generally means there might some kind of journal project throughout they year.
The notebook as we know it today has gone through a few changes. They are no longer the primitive scratch pads they started out to be. Let’s look at their design in a little more detail.
In the late eighties and early nineties, the notebook was being used as a merchandising vehicle. They had celebrities plastered on them, cartoons, and even movies. This trend is continuing today. The pictures are more varied though.
Artists and budding photographers took the chance and designed covers for some of Mead’s more popular notebook franchises. This got their work out there, and allowed individuals to take their favorite pictures everywhere. It made for a great start for some individuals.
These traveling notepads come in a variety of styles. Students and teachers like the multiple subject notebook. However, the kind that still sells the most is the one subject. You need only look around the school supply area to see the other kind of writing tablets there are.
There are a few other incarnations of the notebook. One of the most recent ones are note binders, which are also called hybrids. These binders are simply a notebook in a flexible binder. They allow the user to add loose leaf paper at their own pace.
This style combines the ease of flexible binding of a notebook with the refillable ability of a binder. There are also folder pockets. This may call up memories of the biggest school supply fad of the eighties: The Trapper Keeper.
The Trapper Keeper is also making its own comeback. It has resurfaced looking more sophisticated than ever before. In the place of the Velcro they have placed snaps. That should make them a little more tolerable to teachers and bosses alike.
Whether you like the new note binders, or the old fashioned notebooks, it is clear that these are still more convenient for travel than your laptop. They are not heavy, and they do not require a plug. The only thing required is a pen and a head full of ideas.
