Is a 10GB MP4 Player Enough?

With all the new MP4 players coming to market this holiday season a question you should be asking is “Is 10GB on a MP4 Player enough?” Years ago, will ok 10 years ago 10GB was seen as massive storage for a consumer. Nowadays 10GB is seen as a really small hard drive size.

New MP4 Players this year are Zune from Microsoft, which is available in 30GB and 60GB, see there 10GB isn’t enough for the latest high end models. And why is a 10GB MP4 player not enough in these days?

Frankly, 10GB for video really isn’t much space for a portable MP4 player. Even with the reduced file size of MP4 video you could only fit a few hours of compressed video onto 10GB of space. You may be able to find players with this size at a reduced price from the 30gb and 60gb models which usually run around $200-$250.

But coming back to the question about “Is it enough”, I would say going into 2007 we will see a big push for video on the go and more and more content will be available (did anyone say YouTube), thus 10GB will fill up rather quickly. I would pay the little extra and go for at least a 30gb model. You will not regret making the upgrade.
